Sparta Special Services welcomes Mrs. Christine Pokrywa as an LDT-C at SMS. Mrs. Pokrywa began her career as a special education teacher at West Essex Junior High School, where she taught grades 7-9 as a resource room and in-class support teacher. She began as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant on the Child Study Team at West Essex following four years as a teacher. After the birth of her first child, she accepted a position in the Mt. Olive School District as an LDT-C, where she remained employed for the past 8 years.
Mrs. Pokrywa's undergraduate and graduate work was completed at Rutgers University, where she received her teaching certification in Elementary Education (N-8), and Special Education (K-12) as well as a Masters' Degree in Education. She earned the Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant Certification from William Patterson University. She is currently working towards National Certification as an educational diagnostician (NCED) we well as her Masters' Degree in Educational Leadership.
Mrs. Pokrywa joins Sparta with a goal of using her experience, knowledge and passion to support students and help them meet their academic potential.
