In order to promote and assist the students of Sparta High School in their career exploration, Cori Haines and Larry Fisher, two Sparta Alumni, volunteered their time to participate in the 1st Annual Alumni Career Talk of 2020 at Sparta High School.
Held on December 10, 2020 during Common Lunch in the MRC through a virtual setup, this event was open to any Sparta High School student interested in having a dialogue with the participating alumni regarding their professional experiences, their current professions, and their insight in regards to ‘real-world’ knowledge and application.
During the career talk, students discussed with Cori and Larry a variety of topics covering areas of study, job searches, location, and much more. The virtual setup also permitted some students the ability to simply listen rather than having to directly converse.
Needless to say, it was a great start to a NEW annual event that the Sparta High School Alumni Association believes will continue to bring together alumni from diverse careers and give current students professional insight on those careers in a unique, informative way.
