Congratulations to January’s Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Botti! Mrs. Botti is an exceptional 8th-grade language arts teacher who embodies dedication, passion, and teamwork. She goes above and beyond for her students, creating engaging and dynamic lessons that foster a love for learning and critical thinking. Her enthusiasm for teaching is evident in the way she supports her students' academic growth and personal development. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Botti is a true team player, always willing to collaborate and assist her colleagues with a positive attitude. She also works tirelessly as a cross country coach and organizer of our Washington DC trip. Mrs. Botti’s passion for her job and commitment to student success make her a highly valued and inspiring member of the SMS community. Congratulations again, Mrs. Botti!

Congratulations to December’s Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Scrudato! Mrs. Scrudato is funny, kind, and strong! Despite a mountain of personal obstacles over the last few years, she has remained a steadfast support for her students. Regardless of whatever is going on in her own life, Mrs. Scrudato always finds time and energy to appreciate and support her colleagues as well.
Mrs. Scrudato’s contributions to our school and community are immeasurable. She manages a massive case load of students and puts a great deal of time and care into each individual. She builds relationships with all of her students, and her office is a place in which they feel safe, welcomed, and respected. On a daily basis, Blair solves problems and works to support many different staff members
Mrs. Scrudato’s ability to bring positivity to so many people is unmatched, and she continues to do this without complaint even as she navigates so much outside of school. Congratulations again, Mrs. Scrudato!

Congratulations to November’s Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Kovach! Mrs. Kovach goes above and beyond to service the needs of her students and provide support to her fellow colleagues. She always shares her expertise on how to best meet the needs of her students in order for them to achieve success in their classes. Everyday during TEAM, Mrs. Kovach assigns a group of students to meet with her to offer and provide individualized attention so that the students feel confident and understand challenging science content. She is pro-active in keeping parents advised on student progress, behaviors, and assessments. As a colleague, Mrs. Kovach gives up her lunch to attend 6th grade science department meetings to provide input regarding instructional content, modifications, and pacing. She often advocates for her fellow teachers for resources that improve instruction. We are extremely fortunate to have her here! Congratulation again, Mrs. Kovach!
