Sparta Township School District provides transition services in alignment with New Jersey Special Education Code requirements (NJAC 6A:14-3.7(e)9-13).  Ms. Heather Church is the Transition Coordinator for students ages 14 and older.  She acts as a liaison and consultant between the student, the parent, the Child Study Team and teachers to identify and develop the student's strengths, interests and preferences through courses of study, job sampling and/or employment experiences (beginning at age 16), and if appropriate, independent living skills.  Ms. Church is a resource to the community, connecting students and families with post-school activities including adult education and services, independent living and community participation.
